Texas ChangeMakers empowers the Latino community through identity, community, and leadership. We foster collective strength rooted in our Indigenous and Latino heritage, proving that community is the foundation of life, not an afterthought. Through grassroots initiatives, we develop leaders and unite our gente (people) to uplift each other.

We envision a Texas where Latino communities thrive in unity and pride. In our vision, every Latino feels seen, heard, and connected, from the youngest “Little ChangeMakers” to seasoned community elders. Our communities will flourish together, drawing on ancestral values of cooperation and collective resilience. By nurturing identity and leadership in each generation, we see a future where Latino voices lead positive change in every arena, and where our culture and community are recognized as fundamental to well-being.
Our Story.
Texas ChangeMakers, Inc. was founded in 2025 by a group of Latino college students who refused to wait for change; we decided to be the change. Frustrated by challenges our community faces and inspired by the rich heritage that runs in our veins, we came together to create a new kind of nonprofit.
Our approach is grassroots and community-driven. We draw on lessons from our founder’s research in philosophy: Western individualism often overlooks the truth that belonging, shared identity, and collective resilience are the glue that holds communities together. That’s why Texas ChangeMakers centers community and culture at the core of everything we do. We believe in the power of la comunidad, that neighbors helping neighbors can achieve what no lone individual or top-down policy ever could.

Today, we’re a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit with a growing team of student and community volunteers. We are proudly Latino-led and open to all allies. From organizing youth programs to partnering with local businesses, we work from the ground up to solve problems and lift each other up. Unapologetically proud of our roots, we aim to transform Houston (and beyond) one neighborhood, one family, one Change-Maker at a time.​​
